PORTLAND, Oregon — Steady, widespread rain today and occasional rain Friday will give the coast, valley and much of our region a good soak. Total rainfall today for Portland and Salem could reach up to 1/2 inch of moisture. South winds will be breezy at times.
Snow will fall in the Cascades above 5,000 feet. Timberline could see 8" of wet heavy snow through tonight with more snow likely Friday. Snow levels will lower below Cascade passes with showery weather to start next week.
The weekend will be drier with dry breaks mixed with passing showers.
The Northwest stays in a generally cool, wet pattern through next week.
