FRESHMAN SEASON • 2015
A big surprise as he became a playmaker on defense... started 10 of 11 games, missing one with illness... had 62 tackles to rank fourth on the team... had 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, an interception and a forced fumble... was named Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week after an epic performance in the win at Eastern Washington (11/21)... made 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, forced a fumble and intercepted a pass in that game... made eight tackles in the win over Montana (10/31)... opened season - and his career - with six tackles and two pass breakups in the win over Washington State (9/5)... also had seven tackle games in wins over Montana State (10/17) and Southern Utah (11/14)... a redshirt in 2014.
PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered three times in football at Canby High School... earned first team All-League as a tight end and linebacker his senior season... named second team All-State... made 101 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and forced five fumbles... caught 11 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns... selected to play in the Les Schwab Bowl All-Star game.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Son of Jim and Terri Jo Schlatter... his sister, Garyn, played volleyball at Portland State and ranks as one of the top Vikings in its Big Sky history... father Jim coached football at PSU in the 1980s... mother Terri Jo played on the Vikings National Champion volleyball team in 1984, then coached at PSU until 1992... another sister, Kasey, plays volleyball at Montana State.
