Police investigate 'suspicious death' after man found dead following reported shooting in Northeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — Officers found a man dead after a reported shooting Wednesday morning in Northeast Portland's Hazelwood neighborhood. Police are investigating the case as a "suspicious death."

Around 5:18 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Northeast Everett Court, near Northeast 97th Avenue. They found a man dead when they arrived.

"Based on evidence found at the scene, a small team of Homicide Detectives responded to investigate," the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said in a news release.

PPB did not release any information about the evidence found at the scene. The man's name and his cause of death has not been released yet.
