New Stumptown Coffee opening in downtown Portland

The new cafe will be located on the ground floor of the 11W building at Southwest 11th Avenue and Southwest Washington Street.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Stumptown Coffee is set to open a new café on April 20 in Portland’s downtown West End neighborhood, celebrating with a few events throughout the weekend and into next week.

The new cafe will be located on the ground floor of the 11W building at Southwest 11th Avenue and Southwest Washington Street.

"Stumptown has been a cornerstone of the Portland coffee community since it opened its roastery and cafe nearly 25 years ago, and the newest downtown café proves its continued commitment to and investment in the city, especially within the downtown community," the company said in a statement.

The new cafe will have a full menu, along with rotating seasonal and signature beverages, including its Rose Gold Honey Cortado to kick off spring. The Rose Gold Honey Cortado features honey from Jacobson Co. Honey. The café will also have an assortment of pastries, bagels, and sandwiches from local businesses, like Sparrow Bakery, Spielman’s Bagels and Shoofly Vegan Bakery.

The official grand opening kicks off Saturday. The first 50 visitors will receive a free beverage, courtesy of Oatly, along with a Stumptown Coffee gift bag, according to the company. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., DJ LEV will be performing in the courtyard, and there will be a coffee-and-chocolate tasting, in partnership with Woodblock Chocolate from 2 to 3 p.m.

In addition, throughout Saturday, there will be a raffle running, with the chance to win Stumptown gear, coffee, a tour of the Stumptown roastery, an espresso class with a Stumptown Coffee Educator and more, the company said.

On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to noon, Stumptown is hosting a city cleanup with SOLVE, starting at the Stumptown cafe on Southwest 3rd Avenue and ending at the new 11W cafe.

On April 24, mixologist and bartender Jim Meehan will also be at Stumptown as part of West End Wednesday, serving up coffee-based, non-alcoholic cocktails.

Stumptown Coffee opened its first café nearly 25 years ago, and its cafés with its hand-roasted coffee can be found in Portland, New York, Los Angeles and Kyoto.
