Advisory for snow this weekend over the Cascades

PORTLAND, Oregon — A dry Friday morning in Portland, followed by hours of steady rain beginning around 2:00 pm.  The rain will arrive later this morning along the coast.  Look or a two day rain event, breaking into showers late Saturday with showers continuing Sunday.  Rain totals along the coast will exceed 2.00 inches, while valley total may exceed 1.50 inches. 

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect Saturday through Sunday morning over the Cascades.  Snow levels will lower to 4,000 feet Saturday morning, bringing snow at pass level. Elevations near and above 5,000 feet will see 12-20" of total snowfall tonight through Sunday. 

Rainy, cool weather continues through the day Tuesday.  A stretch of sunny warm days begins Wednesday.  Friday and Saturday of next week may see high temps nearing 80 degrees.
