PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police responded to a suspicious device at a Southeast Portland bank on Friday afternoon. Portland police said the Advantis Credit Union building on Southeast Belmont and Southeast 30th Avenue was evacuated.

The Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit responded and found the object was not a threat.

Police said someone walked into the bank, spoke briefly to employees, left the device and walked out. An explosive detecting canine officer conducted additional sweeps and cleared the location.

All streets in the area have reopened.
