PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland city leaders on Tuesday held a news conference downtown to encourage everyone to support local businesses struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic fallout.

City leaders are calling on everyone to "Be Here for Portland", a new citywide awareness campaign focused on supporting local businesses during the winter months.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and Portland Business Alliance President Andrew Hoan spoke at Tuesday’s news conference.

The new campaign can be seen on several billboards across the city.
