Suspect in Clark County shooting, carjacking found dead

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — The suspect in a Tuesday afternoon shooting and carjacking in Clark County was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

The suspect, who was considered armed and dangerous, was found Tuesday evening at 1258 Yale Bridge Rd. Their identity has not been released.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office said the suspect shot two people with an AR-15-style gun during a carjacking in the 7400 block of Northeast 159th Street. Roads in the vicinity of the shooting were blocked as deputies searched for the suspect, who had driven away.

The two people who were shot during the carjacking were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not released.

The Clark County Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
