BEAVERTON, Ore. — A fire broke out at Beaverton High School Saturday morning and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said everyone was evacuated safely.

"Fire investigators have concluded that the fire was caused by the failure of a small refrigerator that was located inside the adjoining classrooms. The fire is classified as accidental," fire officials said Sunday.

The fire was reported shortly before 10 a.m. It broke out on the second floor, on the Erickson Avenue side of the school. A coach conducting basketball practice noticed smoke in the hallways.

Due to the fire, school will be canceled at the high school on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the Beaverton School District.
