PORTLAND, Ore. — Charges have been dismissed against a man police initially arrested for the sexual assault of a woman in downtown Portland in July.
The assault was reported at 3:30 a.m. on July 5, 2019. The woman said she was walking near Southwest 4th Avenue and Grant Street when the man assaulted her. The suspect fled after the assault, the woman told police.
George Brotherton was initially arrested and charged but all charges were dismissed on Nov. 13, 2019.
The Multnomah County District Attorney's office says an investigation into the assault and related incidents is ongoing.
