PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland area does not lack places to get a locally brewed beer, and new options are on tap all the time.

In the past year, the Portland area saw new brewpubs and taprooms open their doors to a thirsty public, including startup breweries and new locations for already popular members of the area beer scene.

SLIDESHOW: Newcomers to the Portland brewing scene

The Business Journal compiled new brewery and brewpub licenses issued by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission since May 1, 2018 and looked at a selection of new watering holes in and around Portland.

The list includes expansions for established brewers like Migration and Von Ebert, a new artisanal producer, a gluten-free brewer and some places farther afield in Hillsboro, Gresham, Sandy and Banks. There is even a religious community in the mix, with the Benedictine monks of the Mount Angel Abbey, who brew a roster of ales.
