Building owner crashes into pizza restaurant, pins woman in Vancouver

The woman's injuries were not life-threatening, according to firefighters with Clark County Fire District 6.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A driver crashed her car through the front window of a Vancouver pizza restaurant, pinning a woman between the car and the counter Tuesday afternoon, firefighters said.

The driver owns the building, authorities said. She was not injured.

The 79-year-old driver told sheriff's deputies that her foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the gas pedal as she was trying to park.

The pinned woman was freed and taken to a hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, according to firefighters with Clark County Fire District 6.

The crash occurred at Bortolami's Pizzeria, located at 9901 NE 7th Avenue in the Hazel Dell area of Vancouver, just before 3 p.m.

Another customer suffered minor injuries. The driver was not hurt.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
