EUGENE, Ore. — A tree caught fire Saturday afternoon in Eugene after it was struck by lightning.
Virginia Reimer took a photo showing the tree was split with flames running up it.
The lighting strike occurred as a storm made its way north through the Willamette Valley.
KEZI reports the tree is on River Road. No one was hurt but debris and branches flew more than 200 feet, KEZI reported.
In Washington County, there were several downed trees and thousands of people without power due to the wind storm.
