Driver, dog seriously injured in NW Portland crash

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and the dog was taken to Dove Lewis Animal Hospital.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver and a dog were seriously injured following a crash in the 3800 block of Northwest Front Avenue, according to Portland police.

Officers and medical crews arrived at the scene around 6:35 p.m. and found a car flipped over on its top, police said. A driver and dog were inside with serious injuries.

According to officials, the semi was turning when the car struck the semi's trailer, causing the car to roll over. 

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and the dog was taken to Dove Lewis Animal Hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing. 

Northwest Front Avenue is expected to be closed between Northwest Kittridge Avenue and Northwest 26th Place for several hours.
