SAN JOSE, Calif. — Thanks to a late season turnaround, the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team is back in the NCAA Tournament.
The Ducks were on a Cinderella run before the NCAA Tournament even began. Oregon finished the season on an 8-game winning streak, including the Pac-12 tournament championship game to earn a bid in the Big Dance.
The Cinderella run has continued into the tournament as No. 12 seed Oregon beat No. 5 seed Wisconsin 72-54 on Friday. The Ducks followed that up with a 73-54 win against No. 13 seed UC Irvine on Sunday to advance to the Sweet 16. The Ducks will play top-seeded Virginia in the South Regional semifinal on Thursday.
KGW sports anchor Orlando Sanchez is in San Jose to cover the Ducks during their NCAA Tournament run.
