Suspect arrested in SE Portland stabbing

Investigators believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested the suspect in a stabbing that left a man with life-threatening injuries in Southeast Portland on Saturday night.

Ivory Joe Watkins, Jr., 43, is charged with first-degree assault.

Officers responded to the 6400 block of Southeast 129th Place shortly after 6:45 p.m. and found the injured victim. He was taken to the hospital.

Investigators believe the victim and Watkins knew each other and are not from the area the stabbing took place.
