PORTLAND, Ore. — All eyes will be to the sky Sunday evening in anticipation of viewing the total lunar eclipse.
After a day of scattered showers, Portland's forecast calls for partly to mostly cloudy skies with hopes of seeing the show.
Beginning at 7:33 p.m. Sunday, the full moon will move into the dark shadow of the Earth. The full eclipse will last for 62 minutes from 8:41 p.m. until 9:43 p.m. The eclipse will end at 10:50 p.m. Sunday.
Assuming we get treated to breaks in the cloud cover, the moon will have a reddish glow from Earth's sunrises and sunsets.
Lunar eclipses are safe to watch with the naked eye. Binoculars and telescopes will enhance the experience.
