Flying out of PDX for Thanksgiving? Here are some tips

Portland International Airport expects 120,000 people to arrive or leave the airport Tuesday and Wednesday, which will set a two-day record for this time of year.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be record travel days at Portland International Airport.

Spokesman Steve Johnson said an estimated 60,000 people will arrive or leave the airport Tuesday and another 60,000 will move through it Wednesday

That will set a two-day record for this time of year, up by 20,000 people, according to Johnson.

“And we expect to hit another travel record for the year. That will be six consecutive years of growth,” he said.

Altogether, PDX expects 384,000 travelers over seven days.

The airport suggests you try to arrive two hours before your flight to make up for traffic congestion and other issues that can arise with so many people doing their holiday travel.
