Clark County teens hospitalized after overdosing on Xanax, marijuana

Investigators said on Monday that the teens overdosed on Xanax and marijuana.

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. – Four teens were hospitalized Friday after suffering a drug overdose, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 5 a.m., deputies were called to a home in the area of Northeast 147th Avenue and 79th Street. Deputies found three teenage boys, two in a driveway and one in a nearby yard, unconscious. The teens were taken to a hospital.

Several hours later, another teen was brought to a hospital unconscious, the sheriff’s office said.

All four teens are expected to be OK, the sheriff’s office said.

“At that point we realized we had four teens potentially overdosing, not sure if there were additional teens in the area,” said Commander Mike McCabe with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies searched the area but didn’t find any other people in distress.

Deputies worked with nearby Heritage High School and said it appeared no other students were missing.

Investigators said on Monday that the teens overdosed on Xanax and marijuana.

“Our detectives will begin to work with the parents and children, what it was they took, where they got it, and make sure no kids are at risk,” said McCabe.

The identities of the teens will not be released.
