Two pedestrians seriously injured in SE Portland crash

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Two people were injured after they were struck by a vehicle in southeast Portland early Sunday morning.

One of the victims, a woman, suffered life-threatening injuries. The male victim had serious but non-life threatening injuries. Both were taken to an area hospital.

First responders arrived at the scene, in the area of SE 124th and SE Powell, just after 2 a.m. Sunday and found a man and woman lying in the road. Investigators say they were hit by a gray Chevrolet HHR station wagon.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Traffic was detoured between SE 122nd Avenue and SE 127th Avenue during the investigation.
