BEAVERTON, Ore. – A man was arrested after he tried to elude police by car and foot Wednesday night in Beaverton.
Fredrico Alvarez, 25, was pulled over near Southwest Roxbury Avenue and Walker Road for driving recklessly on Highway 217, according to Beaverton police.
After pulling over, Alvarez drove away. An officer tried to stop Alvarez using a PIT maneuver but was not successful. Alvarez ended up crashing into the center median on Southwest Walker Road, police said.
After crashing, Alvarez ran away. A Beaverton K-9 tracked Alvarez to Southwest 113th Avenue and Cabot Street, where he was taken into custody. Alvarez told officers he ran because he didn’t have a valid license, police said.
He was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of reckless driving, felony elude and misdemeanor elude.
TriMet MAX trains were briefly delayed because Alvarez was running on the tracks.
