One driver killed, two people hurt in crash at Columbia River HS in Vancouver

The crash occurred on Northwest 99th Street. Sheriff's deputies closed the road.

VANCOUVER, Wash. – One person died and two people were seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in front of Columbia River High School on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred on Northwest 99th Street around 10:15 a.m. A student pulled out of the school parking lot and was struck by another driver, according to Sgt. Brent Waddell with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver who struck the student's car died after the crash. A passenger in that car suffered injuries that may be life-threatening, Waddell said.

The student driver suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash, Waddell said.

The names of the people involved in the crash have not been released.
