Woman arrested for DUII, manslaughter for fiery fatal crash

Deputies say Vasilissa Kuzmin had a blood alcohol content of 0.21%.

CANBY, Ore. -- Police arrested a 20-year-old woman involved in a fatal head-on crash Thursday night.

Vasilissa Kuzmin was driving on South Barlow Road in Canby just after 10 p.m. when her car collided with another vehicle, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office

Deputies say the other vehicle caught on fire. Bystanders tried to get the driver, 65-year-old Naylor Joles, and passenger, 58-year-old Robert Lough, out of the burning car, but both died inside.

Kuzmin was treated at Oregon Health & Science University for her injuries before she was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

Deputies say Kuzmin had a blood alcohol content of 0.21%.

Kuzmin faces charges of manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants and DUII.
