Teen faces attempted murder charge in Washington County shooting

The suspect faces charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.

PORTLAND, Ore. – A 17-year-old boy from Springfield, Oregon was arrested Monday after police said he shot and wounded a 16-year-old boy in Washington County last week.

U.S. Marshals took Jeffrey D. Terrell into custody near Providence Park. He was taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center.

Terrell faces charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.

On Feb. 5, Washington County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 16000 block of Northwest Rondos Drive, said Deputy Jeff Talbot.

The victim called 911 and told dispatchers that someone entered his home and shot him.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital. He has since been released.
