PORTLAND, Ore. – A man was shot and killed in the Buckman neighborhood of Southeast Portland Saturday afternoon.
The shooting was reported at 3:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Southeast 7th Avenue.
Portland police said there was an altercation between several people that resulted with one man shooting another. The man who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toyanne Hodgin lives nearby and said she heard a couple of "pops" go off.
"I heard a bunch of sirens go by. I though tit was just someone having a heart attack or something," she said.
The man who fired the gun surrendered his weapon to police and is cooperating with officers. No arrests have been made.
The victim will be identified after an autopsy.
